Who We Serve

For Hollins Students

Hollins University sits a short drive up I-581 and Plantation Road from our Orange Avenue office. When home and your family dentist are hours away, it helps to have a dental office nearby that answers the phone and works around a class schedule.

Care away from home, without losing home

You do not have to break up with your family dentist to be seen here. Plenty of students use us as their during-the-semester office: routine cleanings and exams when a break trip home does not line up, and quick help when something goes wrong mid-term. With your okay, we share notes and X-rays with your dentist back home so your care reads like one story instead of two.

When a tooth picks the worst possible week

Wisdom teeth have a talent for flaring up during finals. If a tooth is aching, a filling falls out, or your face is swelling, call us first thing and we will use a same-day emergency slot to get you out of pain fast. The drive from campus runs about 10 to 15 minutes down I-581, easy to fit between classes. Our Hollins area page has the turn-by-turn details.

Invisalign, continued

Started Invisalign with a provider back home? Moving away mid-treatment does not have to mean four months of stalled progress. Call us, and we will coordinate with your hometown office about check-ins while you are on campus. We will always be straight about what makes sense to handle here and what belongs with your original provider.

Honest about student budgets

College budgets are real, and pretending otherwise helps no one. If you are not on a parent’s dental plan, the Virginia Dental Club covers your preventive visits for a flat yearly price, no insurance needed, and discounts any other treatment. Payment plans and CareCredit cover the bigger stuff. Whatever the situation, you will hear the cost in plain numbers before we start. No insurance? No problem is not a slogan here, it is how the front desk actually operates.

Questions from students

Can I keep my dentist back home and still be seen here?

Yes, and lots of students do exactly that. Think of us as your semester dentist: we handle cleanings, urgent problems, and anything that cannot wait for a school break, and we send notes and X-rays to your family dentist so nobody loses the thread. When you graduate or head home for the summer, your records go with you.

I started Invisalign at home. Can you check my progress?

Often, yes. Call us and we will coordinate with your hometown provider about where you are in treatment and what they want monitored. Every case is a little different, so we will be upfront about what we can handle here versus what should wait for your original provider, but you should not have to pause treatment for a whole semester.

What if a wisdom tooth flares up during midterms?

Call 540-342-8781 that morning. We hold same-day emergency slots, and we are used to fitting students in around class schedules. We will get you out of pain, take the X-rays needed to see what is going on, and talk through next steps, whether that is treatment here or a plan you finish over break back home.

I am on a student budget with no dental insurance. What are my options?

You have real ones. The Virginia Dental Club membership covers your cleanings, exams, and X-rays for a flat yearly price and discounts other treatment, no insurance required and no waiting periods. For bigger treatment, we offer payment plans and CareCredit, and we always go over the numbers with you before anything starts.
