Tooth-Colored Fillings

Composite fillings color-matched to your tooth so the repair blends in — no metal, no dark line.

Why we use composite

Composite is a tooth-colored resin that bonds directly to your enamel. Each filling is shaded to match your tooth, so once it’s placed, most people can’t tell where it is. Composite can also replace older silver-mercury amalgam fillings and correct teeth that are badly shaped, discolored, or poorly aligned.

A simple visit

A filling visit is straightforward. After local anesthesia, the decay is gently cleaned out, the area is prepped, and the composite is shaped, bonded, and polished. Most fillings take a single visit, and you can usually go right back to eating and drinking once the numbness wears off.

Catching cavities early

The smaller the cavity when we catch it, the smaller and more conservative the filling. Twice-yearly cleanings and exams are how we keep on top of that.
