Dental Sealants

A thin, protective coating applied to the chewing surfaces of children’s back teeth, sealants block cavities before they start.

Who they’re for

Sealants are most commonly placed on children’s newly erupted permanent molars — the deeply grooved back teeth that are hard to clean and most prone to cavities. They’re a simple, effective form of prevention.

A quick, comfortable visit

Application takes only a few minutes per tooth. The tooth is cleaned and dried, a thin layer of sealant is painted onto the chewing surface, and a special light hardens it. No drilling, no shots.

How long they last

Sealants typically last several years. We check them at every cleaning visit and touch them up if needed.
